    How to get a Real Estate License in Pennsylvania

    Candidates for a real estate license in Pennsylvania must be 18 years old and submit to a background check. They also must complete 60-hours of basic real estate training, have a bachelor’s degree in real estate or have a law degree.


    The Pennsylvania real estate exam consists of 110 questions that must be completed within 180 minutes. The first section of the exam includes the following national real estate topics:
    • Property ownership
    • Land use
    • Valuation
    • Financing
    • Principles of agency
    • Property condition
    • Contracts
    • Transfer of title
    • Practice of real estate
    • Calculations
    The second section includes the following state real estate topics:
    • Real estate commission
    • Licensure
    • Regulation of conduct
