How to get a Real Estate License in Washington

In Washington you must be 18 years old, a high school graduate, and submit to fingerprinting and a criminal history questionnaire. In addition you must complete 90 hours of pre-licensing examination consisting of 60 hours of instruction in real estate fundamentals and 30 hours of instruction in real estate practices.

Exam

The exam consists of 130 questions to be completed within 210 minutes. The first national real estate section includes questions on:
  • Agency relationships and contracts
  • Real property ownership
  • Finance
  • Real property
  • Marketing regulations
  • Property management
  • Real estate calculations
The state real estate exam section includes questions on Washington real estate license law. Fees Exam fee: $138.25 License fee: $146.25
