How to get a Real Estate License in Alabama

To get your real estate license in Alabama, you must be at least 19 years old, have a high school diploma, live in the United States, have no felonies, and not have had a real estate license revoked in the past two years. In addition, you must complete 60 hours of pre-license coursework, pass the licensing exam within 6 months, and then complete another 30 hours of post-license coursework within 12 months.

Exam

The exam consists of 140 multiple choice questions to be completed within 180 minutes.  Forty questions cover Alabama real estate law and related subjects, while the remaining 100 questions cover:

  • Finance
  • Real property
  • Marketing
  • Property management
  • Real estate calculations
