How to get a Real Estate License in Utah

In Utah, you must be at least 18 years old, a high school graduate, complete 120 hours of approved real estate education, and pass the state exam.

Exam

The exam consists of 140 questions split evenly between national and state topics. You must complete the exam within 240 minutes. The national section will test your knowledge of the following:

  • Forms of ownership
  • Property value
  • Contracts and agency
  • Practice of real estate
  • Disclosure
  • Financing and settlement
  • Math calculations
The state section will test your knowledge of the following:
  • Definitions
  • Licensing
  • Office procedures
  • Property management
  • Licensee practice
  • Enforcement
  • Recovery fund
  • Additional topics
  • Closing
