Bright MLS

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF MLS PROVIDER

Bright MLS was incorporated in 2016 and is based in Rockville, Maryland. The company was created so that brokers, agents, appraisers and consumers can have access to more information useful for working in real estate industry. It was created to change the real estate professional demand and to empower every individual interested in real estate industry to get the most out of the MLS.

What distinguishes Bright MLS is that it provides access to listing information that covers large geographic area (Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, D.C.). Bright MLS encompasses 85,000 real estate professionals who serve over 20 million consumers.

When starting out, Bright MLS considered the MLS system in general was not providing all the necessary information that its users were in need for. Bright MLS thought the system was quite fragmented and did not serve agents and brokers in a proper way. In order to address this issue, Bright MLS was developed and established. That’s exactly why 43 associations formed what is now known as Bright MLS. Bright MLS nowadays is focused on not only providing the necessary information to real estate professionals, but on creating value in terms of innovation development and simplification of the MLS system.

Bright MLS mission statement is as follows: “To create the next era of MLS that preserves compensation and cooperation, promotes the expansion of an orderly and efficient marketplace, and provides brokerage firms greater control of and access to their listing content”.
