The Augusta Board of REALTORS® was established in 1914 by a group of real estate brokers who wanted to make it easier for brokers to work with the people they represented. In the absence of any state licensing legislation or departments, the board of REALTORS® is primarily responsible for promoting professional behaviour.

The Greater Augusta Association of REALTORS (GAAR) is an organization made up of real estate practitioners and others with a vested interest in the industry. Members that are registered realtors to adhere to a code of ethics. A “REALTOR” is used for real estate agents only.

GAAR’s goal is to provide the education, support, guidance, and support needed to ensure that its members uphold the highest professional and ethical values in the society, while also supporting and defending private property rights and home ownership.
