    How to get a Real Estate License in Oregon

    Applicants in Oregon must be 18 years old and a high school graduate. They also must complete 150 hours of real estate education, submit to a background check and pass the state licensing exam.


    The exam consists of 130 questions that must be completed within 195 minutes.  The larger national section includes 80 questions on the following subjects:
    • Property ownership
    • Land use controls
    • Valuation
    • Financing
    • Principles of agency
    • Property condition and disclosures
    • Contracts
    • Transfers of title
    • Practice of real estate
    • Calculations
    • Specialty areas
    The state section consists of 50 questions on the following subjects:
    • License law
    • Handling of clients’ funds
    • Agency law
    • Regulation of broker activities
    • Document handling
    • Property management
    • Real estate statutes
